Advice to residents : Build AI tools during Codesmith.
KubeVX is an AI-powered visualization tool facilitating the use of Kubernetes, the popular container orchestration platform. The inspiration came during the program when Jordan was introduced to Kubernetes and saw how AI could simplify the tool for software engineers who are increasingly asked to work with the software.
Riverside is an EdTech company focused on testing solutions and platforms to help teachers gather insights on students. While Jordan is unable to share details about specific internal processes he states that most of the AI use cases Jordan addresses when building products involve “leveraging AI to improve educational tools and provide actionable insights for users, focusing on enhancing the experience for both educators and parents.”
You will build products during the program - use these opportunities to build AI tools that you can talk about in detail during job interviews
When building products on the program, ensure they are solving a real problem, so that engineers in the tech industry would appreciate using them
Follow the market, if a company you want to work for is advertising for an engineer with experience in a new stack, incorporate that stack or tool into your OSP at Codesmith to give you an edge when applying and interviewing after graduation
